Cascades Verdae Announces 2026 Silver Pen Writing Competition Winners

At Cascades Verdae, we believe in fostering deep-rooted connections across generations and supporting the academic dreams of local Greenville students. We are thrilled to officially announce the winners of the 2026 Silver Pen Writing Competition, a cornerstone of our community engagement in Upstate South Carolina.

Celebrating Academic Excellence in Greenville County

On April 16th, 2026, Cascades Verdae hosted an awards dinner to honor our two winners, along with their friends and families. Each student was presented with a monetary sum to assist with their upcoming college tuition and educational expenses at their chosen universities.

The Silver Pen Writing Competition was established in 2012 by our parent company, The Maxwell Group. The goal of the program is to bridge the communication gap between Greenville high school seniors and our senior living community Members. This year, participants submitted essays of at least 1,000 words on a topic carefully selected by a judging panel of Cascades Verdae’s Members.

A Decade of Giving Back to the Next Generation

For over ten years, the Silver Pen program has remained committed to investing in the future of our youth. To date, The Maxwell Group has awarded over $500,000 in financial support to high school seniors. We are proud to continue this tradition of academic support and community connection right here in the heart of Greenville, SC.
