Luxury Memory Care in Greenville, SC

Reflections at Cascades Verdae

At Cascades Verdae, we understand how difficult Alzheimer’s and dementia can be for everyone involved—the person with the disease, their friends and their family. For the person with Alzheimer’s or dementia, losing their mental acuity and forgetting important things like names, dates and events can be devastating. For their friends and family, the 24-hour nature of Alzheimer’s and dementia care can be both mentally draining and physically exhausting. While we can’t control life’s challenges or reverse the progression of dementia, memory care through our Reflections program can help ease the burdens brought on by these difficult diseases. Our memory care community is designed to help slow the progression of symptoms and provide members with a stress-free environment that promotes well-being and encourages family engagement. Our caregivers are all specially trained and certified in Alzheimer’s and dementia care.

All-Inclusive Monthly Pricing

We believe that you shouldn’t have to worry about various “levels of care” or “points” charges, which are popular at many memory care communities. Under this type of pricing model, your rate could increase at any moment, without any notice, just because you receive more care. Cascades Verdae charges one all-inclusive monthly fee, which includes all of your care, no matter how much you need. That’s because we want billing to be the least of your worries.

At our community, you pay one rate for all your care while in memory care.

How Memory Care Works

One of the major differentiators between assisted living and memory care is that memory care facilities are specially designed by experts in the field of Alzheimer’s and dementia to accommodate those with memory-impairing illnesses. Aspects of this design include straightforward and easily maneuverable floorplans, a brightly lit environment that allows for plenty of sunlight and secured doors so that patients with symptoms of wandering are kept safe. Our facilities stand out even more because of the level of luxury they live up to, providing members with a resort-like setting where they feel comfortable and taken care of.

Families take comfort knowing that every caregiver at our memory care community is specially trained and certified in Alzheimer’s and dementia care. Our caregivers provide members with assistance in day-to-day tasks as well as engage them in mentally stimulating activities surrounding memory, reasoning and information processing. Overall, our caregivers serve as guides to members during their stay at our community, providing them with nurturing care, responding to any concerns they have and creating an environment that maximizes their quality of life. Having a staff of Alzheimer’s and dementia experts is important not only because of the specialized care they provide, but also due to their ability to recognize symptoms as they arise and adjust care on the fly.

Dining and Wellness

Depending on what stage of Alzheimer’s or dementia they are at, members of our memory care community can have vastly different dietary needs. That is why we offer a range of dining options, from traditional, family-style fine dining to more adaptive options such as bite-sized portions and pureed food. Our community employs an on-site dietician who assists in developing person-centered nutrition plans for members. For a task that causes so many dementia patients difficulty, we strive to bring the joy back to eating.

Members of memory care enjoy access to our premier wellness program, which includes our award-winning WAVES class. WAVES guides members through a series of aerobic exercises in a warm, salt-water pool, and it has been shown to reduce stress, improve appetite and promote healthy sleeping patterns.

WAVES Program

WAVES

WAVES received the Best of the Best Award from Argentum, the nation’s largest senior living association, celebrating its outstanding achievements in Alzheimer’s programming. WAVES is an aquatic-based experience, led in our heated indoor therapy pool, giving our members a safe and fun way to exercise.

  • The combination of warm, therapeutic water and low-impact aerobic activity can reduce anxiety and stress while providing a healthy outlet for excess energy.
  • Members who participate in the program may enjoy improved strength & balance, appetites, better sleeping patterns and a stronger bond with their caregivers.
  • We do things differently here, and we don’t settle for ordinary outcomes.
  • We believe everyone can live a higher quality of life with wellness.

Living With Alzheimer’s and Dementia

A Blog Series

Understanding that your loved one may have a form of dementia can be a difficult and trying time. While there is no single test that can diagnose a person, it’s vital to identify and become aware of the symptoms attributed to dementia. There are various cases of dementia and on average, Alzheimer’s accounts for 60 to 80 percent of cases, while Vascular dementia (which occurs after a stroke) is the second most common form.
