Cascades Verdae’s Beth Walker Wins 2022 Supernova Award

Transition Specialist Takes Home Highest Honor

The Supernova Award is the highest individual honor that our company gives and each year. One individual on the leadership team at Cascades Verdae is voted by their colleagues as the community’s Supernova based on an assortment of criteria. Each year during the Senior Living Communities Annual Meeting, the winner is revealed and given a customized crystal award at the company’s formal Supernova Awards Evening. The criteria for voting is based on upholding our company’s mission to be caring professionals dedicated to quality services. Additionally, this individual will consistently deliver excellent customer service (to Members, families, and colleagues), lead positively with integrity, take accountability, put the team before themselves, and embody the company’s vision to create communities where people live longer, healthier, and happier lives.

This year, we are proud to congratulate our Transition Specialist, Beth Walker as the recipient of the 2022 Cascades Verdae Supernova Award. This honor was bestowed at the Senior Living Communities Annual Meeting on Thursday, July 28th at The Omni Grove Park Inn, in Asheville, North Carolina. As the community’s Transition Specialist, Beth is responsible for assisting new move-ins and potential members with transitioning to the community. They assist the community’s various departments and serve as a liaison to ensure the new member(s) and their families make a smooth transition into the community.

Beth retired from Greenville Country Schools after twenty years working as a Cosmetology Instructor. After retirement, she didn’t enjoy being at home 24/7 and started working in the Salon at Cascades Verdae 3 day each week. After resigning from doing hair due to personal reasons, she came back to The Cascades as a part-time Drive. When the position for Transition Specialist opened up, she was told to apply and was welcomed into the position. “Here I am, from High School Seniors to Seniors in Senior Living,” Beth says. In her free time, she enjoys crocheting and sewing, having participated in our craft fairs and Quilts of Valor programs at The Cascades. She has been married for 35 years as of November 2022. Beth also has two sons with a soon-to-be “daughter” in law who also work at The Cascades!
