Michelle Powers Wins 2024 Supernova Award

The Supernova Award represents our company’s pinnacle in individual achievement. The award, chosen through anonymous voting of their peers, is presented to the standout team member of the year by our Executive Team during the Senior Living Communities Annual Meeting Memory Gala, a night dedicated to celebrating those who excel in their profession, foster a culture of compassionate professionalism and positive leadership, and put people first, always.

This year, we are proud to congratulate our Resident Care Director, Michelle Powers, as the recipient of the 2024 Cascades Verdae Supernova Award. She establishes and implements Member care standards throughout care services on a 24-hour basis. This position oversees the documentation for Members, assigns Members to nursing assistants as needed, and assists with the overall healthcare programs for the Members in each area of Cascades Verdae.

Michelle’s journey in the senior living industry was inspired by her grandfather, a war veteran with Parkinson’s disease. She started as a caregiver, absorbing every aspect of the field and working her way up to the director position. Michelle’s impact on her community has been profound, and she feels immensely fortunate to have been a guiding light. She joined Cascades two and a half years ago as the Resident Care Coordinator and, within a month, was promoted to the Resident Care Director.
