Interview with Leslie Fryar
How do you feel being chosen as the Cascades Verdae Supernova?
Very thankful and honored. 2020 has been a different and challenging year for all of us in leading our departments and communities. We’ve had to be innovative and flexible with our approach. We’ve had much to celebrate and it’s because of the great team and servant hearts we are surrounded by.
In your position, how do you work to fulfill the company’s Guiding Principles (People First Always, We Exist To Serve Our Members and We Have A Responsibility to be Full)?
Leading by our Guiding Principles has never been more evident with the steps we have taken in 2020 as individual communities and towards our company initiatives. Our company developed an action plan to pay team members for missed time when testing positive for Covid-19. This allowed our team members to be forthcoming and not miss pay while also helping us provide the safest environment possible. There has been much emphasis on doing what is right for our team, our residents, and our families with a focus on keeping everyone engaged as we move through our new normal.
What do you want people to know about living at a retirement community?
It’s an enhanced quality of life. Even in our recent and current times, our communities still offer an enhanced living and a more fulfilled well-being through dining, social, and wellness in a safe environment.
