St. Patrick’s Day

“May you have all the happiness and luck that life can hold—and at the end of your rainbows may you find a pot of gold.”

Our Members were thrilled to be able to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day together this year. Attendees to our celebration enjoyed traditional Irish music, Green Beer, Irish-themed appetizers, and the fun and camaraderie among friends and neighbors! Cheers!

March Madness

Last week we hosted our first discussion with Dr. Mark Shanker from Yale University! This series is called ‘Murder by the Book Mystery Discussion Series’. Our attendees read a ‘Study in Scarlet’ by Arthur Doyle for part one. Dr. Shanker let them in a group discussion about the book which was incredible! We can’t wait to see what is in store for the rest of this series!

Bagpipes

We celebrated International Bagpipe Day the only way knew how! We took the opportunity of this beautiful sunny day to bring Glen Adams to Great Lawn to both entertain and educate us on the Bagpipe. Glen played several familiar and traditional tunes and explained the history and function of this ancient instrument to our Members.

Model Ship & Painting

Our pandemic pastime projects art wall continues to grow. This week, painter, Tom Mundie, and model shipbuilder, Earl Larson combined a display of the schooner, Benjamin Latham. The boat was built in 1902 and can be seen on the display in front of the New York Fish Market during that era. How amazing!

CLIMB

A little rain didn’t stop our wellness classes! Earlier this week after a beautiful morning Spring rain, Members participated in a courtyard workout! Check out these fun photos of our participants crushing their C.L.I.M.B. workout!
